Inka Rusi is a film director, producer and writer who works across narrative and documentary film along with TV series.
Inka graduated from the California institute of the Arts Film Program in Los Angeles with an MFA in Film Directing in 2020. She is a Fulbright and Thanks To Scandinavia Scholar. Her thesis film BIND (2021) a psychological thriller was selected to 2021 CAA Moebius Showcase.
Before filmmaking Inka worked in fashion in Paris at CHLOÉ and SONIA RYKIEL as a womenswear designer and brings a strong visual and contemporary touch to her filmmaking. She started her career in film working in various positions on international feature films, series and documentaries on productions such as GAME OF THRONES (HBO), THE DEVIL’S BRIDE(Netflix), EMERGENCY CALL - MURDER MYSTERY (YLE) as well as on commercial productions for clients such as ELLE UK, C More Entertainment and MTV3.
She was the creative producer on the feature length documentary film BRAINWASHED:SEX-CAMERA-POWER executive produced by Tim Disney and Abigail Disney that premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2022 and went on to screen at festivals such as The Berlinale Panorama, CPH:DOX, The BFI Film festival and IDFA.
Born into a diplomatic family in New York, Inka co-founded Onerva Pictures along with her sister Tanja with the ambition to create a home for international film and TV projects.
She is a member of SELO The Finnish Film Director’s Guild and SUNKLO The Writer’s Guild of Finland. Inka also completed a year long Drama Intensive in Series Directing by YLE Lume Lab & YLE Drama in 2023.
